they met yesterday. my most favourite things. the mighty boosh and knitting *lol*

here is a snapshot of the encounter. vince seems to be delighted – not quite sure what the scarf thinks though.

i first started the branching out pattern with lana grossa cool wool 2000 print. the yarn is really lovely and so nice to knit, but it just didn’t accentuate the lace pattern at all. here is a photo:

so i ripped it up again, headed into the city and got myself a similar yarn in white. i didn’t get lana grossa anywhere, so i got a similar substitute from wolle rödel „siena“ and started all over again. here is the result by now:

it’s a lot better in white, don’t you think?!

it’s also the first project i used „lifelines“ so that i don’t need to start all over again or have much hassle if i make a mistake. i learned that quickly after i had to undo a whole pattern repeat because i messed up ONE stitch in the first pattern row *growl*

anyway, it’s coming on nicely… i can’t wait to see it growing… and blocked 🙂

i proudly present: my very own endpaper mitts. just finished the last rows and sewed in the last ends of yarn… it was a lot of fun, but also hard work… i even just poked myself in the eye with one of my needles (beware of double pointed needles. they are evil!)… but here are my beauties:

Material, Garnstärke, Farbe(n), Muster…: mag eigentlich alles… Ringel, Zopfmuster, Lochmuster, eingestrickte Motive, einfarbig, bunt, hell, dunkel, grell, dezent…. klassische Sockenwolle (4fach, 6fach), sehr gerne mag ich auch mit Baumwolle, Seide und Bambus… Außerdem liebe ich handgefärbte Unikate
* Das geht gar nicht (Material, Form, Farbe): 100% Polyacryl, sehr bunt/wild Melliertes, Rüschen, Puschel und Gedöns

* Ohne folgende Leckerei(en) kann/mag/soll ich nicht leben: Ohne Schokolade geht garnichts. Schoko in allen Varianten! Außerdem Salt and Vinegar Chips, saures Gummizeug, Kaugummi (süchtig), Skittles (kommt aus England und gibt es hier leider nicht), Eisbonbons, diese Haferflockenkekse mit Schoki von IKEA *yummy*
* Gar nicht leiden kann ich: Waffelkekse, Erdnussflips
* Allergien/Nahrungsmittelunverträglichkeiten etc.: keine

Rock’n’Roll

* Lieblingsmusikrichtung: Hauptsächlich Indie Rock. Jegliche Art von Rock (Punk Rock, Hard Rock, Classic Rock, Brit Rock (äh, Pop))… Mag aber auch sehr gerne Gospel, Jazz, klassische Musik, Irish Folk, Filmmusik

* Momentan läuft in meinem Player ständig: siehe Lieblingsband + Lieblingssänger. Hab nen 4GB iPod, da passt schon so einiges an Musik drauf. Je nach Laune findet sich da immer was.
* Hörst Du Radio? Wenn ja, welchen Sender? Eher selten. Eigentlich nur wenn ich in der Küche nähe oder spüle… Dann höre ich am liebsten HR3.
* Last-FM-Profil vorhanden? Unter welchem Namen? Ich wusste bis eben nicht mal was das ist… Musste den Herrn Google dazu befragen 😉
* Möchtest Du lieber etwas, was zu Deinem Geschmack passt, oder würde es Dir auch gefallen, etwa die spezielle Lieblingsplatte/-band vom Pal zu hören? Wenn mein Partner gerne Hiphop, Techno, Schlager oder RnB hört, dann möchte ich lieber etwas das zu meinem Geschmack passt 😉 Aber am besten wäre eine Mischung. Das was ich unter Lieblingsbands etc. aufgelistet habe, kenne/habe ich ja schon… Aber vielleicht hat mein Swap-Partner ja ein paar Geheimtipps oder Ideen was mir auch gefallen könnte…

i joined the group „crafting 365“ on flickr where the members craft every day for a year and post their photos there. so this is my 1st-day-project 🙂

i made the hearts from scrap sock yarn. so now i have matching hearts to wear with my socks 😉

this lovely little heart was a really quick knit… i want to produce a lot more before valentines day! 🙂

it’s knitted in the round and is completely seamless *weheeeeewww*

i had to try out the yarn i bought on ebay! so i started socks with a leaf pattern in a light green colour. knitting with the untwisted yarn is not as difficult as i thought… but i’ll try to stop myself from going on before i finished my endpaper mitts. one at a time (at least i’m trying to tell that to myself 😉 )

… with italian cast on… it’s by far not as difficult as it looks 🙂
