needle roll

i was really annoyed by my knitting needle box for ages. you could never find the needles you were looking for…

so i just did myself a needle roll, using this tutorial: http://alexandrasknits.blogspot.com/2006/01/tutorial-alexandras-needle-case.html
the tutorial is really easy to follow and the roll is really spacy and versatile… all kinds of needles fit in there… long, short, … even circular!

cheep, cheep: bird-bag

story: made this bag for a friend’s little girl. i fell in love with the pattern when i found it on the web and just had to sew it! the special thing about it is, that i dug out the green/yellow flower fabric from my mum’s old stach. it was a rest of the fabric i had a dress from as a kid 🙂 the fabric is still really nice and was perfect for this kids birdy bag!

outer fabric: thin white yeans, yellow/green/white linen with flowers

lining fabric: yellow linen

specialities: the bird shape obviously. snap fastener, wings are extra pockets. plus my first ever piping and frill.

Sixties fabrix from flea market

i just bought this lovely screaming pink fabric on a flea market in bornheim (frankfurt). it’s curtains originally from the 60ties/70ties 🙂

bought 2 for 4€, each of them being about 2.40m x 1.60m – so loads of fabric for future bags…

brilliant.

i’ll throw it in the washer now and think about what i could sew out of this fabric 🙂
